Terms
The short version: Gofors connects you with a local person who picks up goods and drops them at your door. You pay them directly.
What Gofors is
Gofors is a free matching service run by Michelle Bourke in Melbourne. It passes your job to runners nearby and keeps you in touch while it's on. Gofors isn't the courier and doesn't employ the runners: each runner is an independent person who chooses the jobs they take.
For customers
- You need to be 18 or older to book.
- Goods only, worth up to $100, handed over at the door. Gofors isn't insured, so don't send anything you couldn't replace. Runners won't carry people, pets, cash, alcohol, tobacco, medicines or weapons, and they don't come inside.
- Tasks are small jobs outside or at the door, like bins, parcel lockers and returns. You offer the price (we suggest one) from $5 to $100. Runners never come inside, and don't look after people or pets.
- You'll see the price before you book. You pay the runner straight to their PayID once the goods are at your door, then tap "I've paid". The bot tells you the name your bank should show for that PayID. If your bank shows a different name, don't pay.
- Make sure the goods are ready to collect (paid for, under your name) and small enough for one person to carry.
- If something goes wrong, tap Something's wrong in the bot. The runner is paused straight away and Gofors follows it up. Gofors can't refund money it never held, but every runner's verified phone number and bank name are on record if you need to go to the police.
- Be kind. Gofors can block anyone who isn't.
For runners
- You need to be 16 or older.
- Goods only, handed over at the door. You never go inside.
- You choose which jobs to take. No shifts and no minimum hours. Pause any time with /off.
- You use your own car, bike or feet. Check your insurance covers occasional deliveries.
- Customers pay you directly by PayID, which must be in your own name. Gofors never holds your money and takes no cut. A PayID change starts 24 hours after you make it.
- Your PayID must be your verified mobile number, so it's checked automatically. Your verified number and your PayID's bank name stay on record. Two low ratings, or a customer reporting a problem, pause your jobs while it's looked into.
- You're your own boss, not employed by Gofors, so you look after your own tax.
- Take a photo at pickup and at the door, and be kind.
Tips
After a job you can tip Gofors, from 10c up. Tips go to Gofors' own PayID, never to or from your runner's pay. They pay for hosting first, and everything else goes to local charities. Every tip received, every cost and every donation is listed at gofors.com.au/giving.
Agents
An AI agent with a Gofors key can book jobs for its person, up to the key's limit. The person is responsible for what their agent books, and always pays the runner themselves.
